The project for Piazza Tre Torri and for the surrounding commercial areas at the hypogeum level of the piazza falls under the Integrated Intervention Plan for the Tradefair District promoted by the city of Milan. The location of the project is at the center of the three towers, along the pedestrian pathway which links Largo Domodossola with the new park. The piazza is articulated on two levels: the elevation of the upper level, 129 m AMSL, is the same as that of the main entrances to the towers, while the elevation of the lower (hypogeum) level, 122 m AMSL, corresponds to that of the pathway between the park and Largo Domodossola. The project also includes two parking levels located below the lower level of the piazza. The first underground parking level, at 117 AMSL, serves the commercial areas, while the second underground parking level, at 113 AMSL, serves the offices. The project also includes the volumes containing the stairwells and lifts serving the underground levels of the Isozaki Tower, thereby linking the underground parking to the commercial areas.
The contracted work encompasses the detailed design and construction of the mechanical and electrical systems and finish works for Piazza Tre Torri and relative shopping district, Lotto A4 and Lotto Re. Three canopy roofs will also be erected over Piazza Tre Torri. The largest canopy covers part of the volume located near the Libeskind Tower, containing food and drink vendors, and it then folds down to protect the escalators that link the lower level of Piazza Tre Torri (+122 m AMSL) and with the upper level, at +129 m AMSL.
